A 5-step, nutrient-rich bariatric seed recipe designed for post-surgery nutrition and weight loss support. This versatile, high-protein, low-carb blend supports digestion, boosts energy, and helps you stay full for hours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp nutritional yeast (optional, add after roasting)

Instructions

  1. In a container, combine the chia seeds, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.
  2. Add the olive oil, sea salt, and red chili powder, then stir thoroughly until all seeds are evenly coated.
  3. Roast the mixture in an oven, on a stovetop pan, or in a microwave on medium heat for 4 minutes until aromatic and lightly crisp.
  4. Allow the seed mix to cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, stir in the optional nutritional yeast to enhance flavor and add nutrients.
  6. Store the finished seed mix in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Avoid over-roasting the seeds to preserve their omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Consume the seed mix within two weeks for optimal freshness and nutrient retention.
  • This mix is perfect as a standalone snack or as a topping for salads, yogurt, or oatmeal.
